Safety on DatePulse
Blind dating only works if the meeting itself is designed to be safer. Here is how we do that in Uganda.
Public venues only
First meetings are at curated cafés, restaurants, and malls — Café Javas, Java House, KFC Makerere, and similar well-lit public places. We do not send you to private homes.
Photos unlock after check-in
You see a first name, venue, and meeting code before the date. Full photos and contact details appear only when both people check in at the venue. If someone does not show, the profile stays locked.
Adults 18 and older
DatePulse is only for people 18+. You confirm your age when you sign up. Your first two connections are free; after that the confirmation fee is there so both sides are serious about showing up.
If you feel unsafe
Leave. Tell a friend where you are. Use in-app support after you have an account. In an emergency in Uganda, contact local authorities. DatePulse cannot replace your judgement on the ground.
Practical tips for your first date
- Tell a friend the venue and time.
- Arrive on your own and leave on your own if you want to.
- Stay in the public area of the venue.
- Do not share extra personal details until you are comfortable.
